Welcome to Season 2009-2010

Dear Member,

While we haven't had a new edition of The Ridge sent out in recent times, don't think that Sandridge LSC has simply gone into hibernation for the winter! Lately our club has continued to be a hive of activity with training programs, fitness programs and even a new roof being installed.

We can't wait to see you back for another season this year, and we've already started planning. Find some updates on Sandridge Life Saving Club Operations below.

Sandridge Event Services

This year saw the launch of a new initiative at Sandridge - Event Services. With many members still keen to be involved in the club over winter, and keep their skills current, Sandridge has set up a unique combination of Aquatic and First Aid response services for hire by individual events. Club members Alexander Buckley, Patrick Welham, Julie Madden and Sean Lawler have all reached their level of competency as an Event Day Captain with the service. Congratulations guys!

If you would like more information in joining the service, or hiring us for your next event's first aid, aquatic safety and event safety coordination need, please email us at:
eventservices@sandridge.org.au

Bronze Medallion

So far this year we've seen 9 bronze medallions awarded! Congratulations to the CALD Squad and the Autumn Family Squad, as well as a big thanks to Rebecca Schot-Guppy and Holly DeVries for running those courses, along with all of their lovely helpers. Maybe it's your turn to take the training at Sandridge? Get involved today!

Have you done your bronze medallion yet? We're currently looking for expressions of interest for Bronze Medallion courses at Sandridge.

Please email us at: eventservices@sandridge.org.au

Water Saftey Record

Sandridge LSC is excited by the opportunity to be partnering with the Outlaw Paddling Crits races at Sandridge Beach this year.

But, we need your help!

Water safety is required to help us run these events, with IRB Drivers and Crews desperately needed, along with Bronze Medallion holders and First Aid Staff. If you're interested, please contact Banjo Anderson at: eventservices@sandridge.org.au.

Competitors should note that these special event patrols may count towards competition hours (YET TO BE CONFIRMED), meaning you can complete your required hours before the patrol season even officially begins!

BBQ helpers are also needed for this event, so there's something for everybody to do if they're keen! It should be a string of great events that we're proud to be involved with, and we can't wait to see you there!

The dates for the events are:

Membership

Keep an eye out in the mail for your next round of membership renewal forms within the next few months!

Club Keys

We are currently looking for members who have keys in their possession to return these. While not all keys must be returned, due to the fact our keys go missing from circulation too often, we've now exhausted the club supply.

If you have a key, please contact Banjo Anderson on 0404 554 844 to organize a return so we can all start using the clubhouse again.

Club Ladder

After a recent audit of our club house's safety compliance, we've had to close access to our club patrol tower. Please do not use the ladder to the tower or the tower itself until further notice. Thank you!

Working Bee

Sandridge will be running a working bee to help fix up a few things around the club on Saturday the 22nd of August sound from 9am –11am.

We really need as many people there as possible to get things moving, and more importantly, so we don't miss anything that should be done! Remember, 120 sets of eyes are better than 1!
